As I promised on the last post, here are some pics of some Minipartes models. For those who didn't read the last post, this portuguese manufacturer assembles models of the portuguese rallye winners and models from portuguese drivers. To do so, they use molds from different manufacturers. Mainly Troféu, Vitesse/Skid and Ixo. Here they go:
Ford Escort MKII - Rallye of Portugal 1980 - Cesár Torres (best placed portuguese driver) - Troféu base
Ford Escort MKII - Rallye of Portugal 1983 - Joaquim Santos (best placed portuguese driver) - Troféu base
Toyota Celica GT4 - Rallye Of Portugal 1998 - Rui Madeira (best placed portuguese driver) - Troféu base
Lancia Delta 4WD - Winner Rallye of Portugal 1987 - M. Alen - Skid base
Toyota Corolla WRC - Winner Rallye Of Portugal 2002 - Didier Auriol - Ixo base
You will not find any of these models in the normal manufacturer boxes. They were only assembled and sold as Minipartes. Minipartes is more or less like a tunner in real cars. They use the base of other manufacturers to make their models - sometimes improving the bases they use.
To finish this post I leave a challenge for the rest of you.
Ford Escort Cosworth - Rallye Of Portugal 1993 - Fernando Peres
Who can guess the base used to do this model?
Best regards:

Nice overview, thank you Pedro !
For the Escort, i think it is a modified Minichamps-Model, but I´m not sure....
I have one Model from minipartes too:
Need a 1992 Sainz celica for my World-Champions-Collection, and found it at Minipartes

I forgot to mention one last thing about Minipartes models. They usually have tabacco decals. Applyed or in the sheet - do you yourself style. No "bullshit" of anti-tabacco stuff.
Uwe. regarding the Escort, you are wrong! Keep trying!!!! I really don't believe any of you will guess but we will see...

Hello Pedro,
i think the Escort could be a Bburago model
Mine just is:
There are some missing details (cage, number plate etc.) but very nice for a Ex-Bburago.
Some of the Minipartes models are really nice
They do not have much Monte cars i think?!

You are completely wright!!! It's a Bburago base. When Minipartes started making the Escort Cosworth, the only available molds were the Minichamps and Bburago. Surely, Minichamps didn't allow Minipartes to use their mold, so they had to go to Bburago. The mold is quite weak but still, the model is much better than the "normal" Bburago. Specially the interiors which are quite improved.
I believe they will soon start using the Ixo mold which is quite good (better than the existing Minichamps mold) and the models will finally be quite good.
Also, I really didn't knew that Monte Carlo version. It's the first Monte Carlo model I've seen from Minipartes. Usually, as I already said, it's just portuguese rallye winners, portuguese drivers and models from other portuguese rallyes. Isn't that model a conversion?
