First of all, hi to Uwe! You'll probably remember me from my post on the (recommended!) mad4models forum. I decided to subscribe to this forum to bring in...erhh..nothing really Except for some English;)
My apologies for this, it's just that writing in German is a little too difficult compared to English. If anyone is offenced by this, ask the moderators to kick me out
If someone ever thinks he or she actually wants to REPLY on a post writen by me ( ), feel free to do so in German, I can understand it, no worries:)
Let me introduce myself. My name is Harmen and I'm 19 years old. I'm living in Holland, near Utrecht, in a huge no-modelcar-shops-zone.. Well, there is always the internet, and especially some Germans have a lot of interesting stuff;)
Besides collecting modelcars I'm studying astrophysics at the University of Utrecht...hold on, this was about modelcars..sorry!
My collection consists of about 150 models, most of them 1:43 (say,99% ). There is not such thing as a specific subject, I try to collect every model I like Most of them are from the main and well-known manufacturers like Minichamps, Autoart, Ixo, Norev, Schuco and so on. (Hey, I've got two Focus' too! ) I have also got some old Schabak and Gama-stuff from the early years I collected modelcars. It all started back in 1992, when I got my first models at my 8th birthday. I already collected yearbooks. Thanks to my dad, he often used a yearbook to let me eat, I've seen those cars so many times I already knew them all when I was three years old!
About 10 months ago, I started collecting fanatically again, resulting in at least 40 new models:) And thanks to this site I'm searching for diorama's now, I also want my cars to look more beautiful (well, not all 150 of course at least, not at once;) ) It's great what these can do for models! Hopefully, I will be able to buy some soon. If anyone recommends a good place to buy them, please feel free to inform me, any help is highly appreciated.
I have another question. Does anyone know if there exist decals for Swiss numberplates (in 1:43)? And it would be even better if there is a place to buy them;)
This would look massive on a lot of models, don't you like the Swiss police Volvo's by Minichamps?
Well folks, that's all for now! (great, you've made it throughout the end!! ) Hopefully someone isn't bored by all this;)
Greatings from Holland!
Harmen
